Sub-Contract Bedroom Furniture Fitter / Installer
Location: Cornwall
Salary: Negotiated depending on service provided
Employment Type: Sub-Contract / Self-Employed – Approx. 3 days per week, with additional work available at peak times
About the Client
KBB Recruitment are looking for experienced sub-contract Bedroom Furniture Fitters/Installers on behalf of our client.
With a long-standing reputation for quality manufacturing and installation, our client designs, manufactures and installs a wide range of high-quality bedroom furniture, including fitted wardrobes, for customers across the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced furniture fitter or carpenter/joiner looking for regular sub-contract work in Cornwall, with the potential for additional days during busier periods.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for surveying, collecting, delivering and installing sliding and hinged wardrobe systems for both contract and retail customers.
You will be expected to deliver a high-quality, professional installation while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required customer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities

Install sliding and hinged wardrobe systems using a range of hand and power tools.

Complete installations in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.

Manage time effectively to ensure installations are completed on time and in full.

Collect and deliver products from the warehouse to customer sites, ensuring products are safely stored, secured and protected during transit.

Complete surveys, deliveries, installations and customer completion sign-offs.

Use the Field Aware task scheduling system to manage assigned work.

Maintain full compliance with all customer and company Health & Safety requirements, including PPE, RAMS, safety briefings and toolbox talks.

Adopt a ‘Right First Time’ approach, ensuring all work is completed to the highest possible standard.

Minimise return visits and the cost of poor-quality workmanship.

Work across a variety of locations to meet customer and business requirements.
Requirements / Skills
-
Proven career experience in carpentry and/or joinery is essential.

Previous experience fitting furniture within the KBB industry is highly desirable, particularly wardrobes, kitchens or similar products.

Experience working on construction sites and within occupied customer homes.

Strong focus on quality, attention to detail and achieving a high-quality finish.

Current CSCS card is essential.

Full UK driving licence.

Own long-wheelbase van suitable for collecting and transporting products from the warehouse.

Own professional power tools.
-
Must be registered for CIS.

Must hold Public Liability Insurance of a minimum of £2 million.

Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to travel to various locations.

Good numeracy skills and a high level of accuracy.

Ability to interpret floor plans and technical information.

Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

References from previous clients will be required.
