About the Role

The Driver & Factory Operative will be responsible for the safe, professional and efficient transportation of customer products, materials and company equipment, while providing hands-on operational support across the manufacturing facility.

The role will involve daily deliveries and collections throughout London and the surrounding areas, alongside supporting production teams with the movement of materials, preparation of deliveries and general factory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving & Deliveries

  • Complete daily deliveries and collections throughout London and surrounding areas.
  • Load, secure, transport and unload products using safe handling techniques.
  • Check deliveries against delivery notes and complete documentation accurately.
  • Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations where required.
  • Report delivery issues, shortages, defects or damage immediately.
  • Represent the Company professionally and courteously at customer and supplier locations.

Vehicle Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
  • Maintain Company vehicles in a clean, organised and professional condition.
  • Ensure vehicles are used safely and responsibly.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance requirements immediately.

Factory & Production Support

  • Move materials, components and finished products between departments.
  • Assist with loading and unloading supplier deliveries.
  • Prepare products for dispatch, including packaging and protection.
  • Assist Joiners, Machinists, CNC Operators, Spray Finishers and other factory personnel when required.
  • Support Installation Teams with loading and preparation of vehicles.
  • Assist with stock movements and general warehouse duties.
  • Help maintain the continuous flow of materials and finished goods throughout the factory.

Housekeeping & Organisation

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the workshop, warehouse, yard and loading areas.
  • Sweep, vacuum and remove waste materials to maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Return tools, equipment and materials to designated storage locations.
  • Maintain an organised and efficient working environment.
  • Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions or maintenance issues immediately.

Health & Safety

  • Follow all Company Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Follow appropriate manual handling procedures.
  • Handle customer products, materials and equipment with care.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' driving experience with a full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience driving throughout London and surrounding areas.
  • Previous experience within a delivery, warehouse, factory, joinery or construction environment.
  • Good understanding of safe manual handling techniques.
  • Experience handling valuable products or materials carefully.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible approach with a willingness to support multiple departments.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy items safely.
