Driving Duties

• Deliver building materials to customers using a company van (3.5t or similar), ensuring safe and legal driving at all times

• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes in line with provided schedules

• Ensure goods are correctly loaded, secured, and signed for

• Provide a high level of customer service during deliveries and assist with minor queries where possible

Yard Duties

• • Assist customers in locating and loading building materials

  • Load and unload goods from supplier vehicles and customer collections (using forklifts where licensed)

  • Maintain yard organisation and cleanliness, ensuring materials are stored safely

  • Carry out stock checks and report any shortages or damages

  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements

• Full UK driving licence

• Previous experience in a builders’ merchant, construction, or trade environment (preferred but not essential)

• Knowledge of building materials and products (desirable)

• Forklift (counterbalance) licence desirable; training may be provided

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake manual handling tasks
