Senior Sales Assistant

Simon Acres Group are currently working with an independent builders' merchant with branches across the South East of England, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Sales Assistant. In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional customer service, drive sales, and help create a positive shopping experience for every customer. You’ll also play a key part in supporting junior colleagues and assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming shoppers, identifying their needs, and recommending suitable products.

• Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently answer customer queries.

• Proactively achieve sales targets and build lasting customer relationships.

• Support and mentor junior team members to uphold high service standards.

• Manage stock through replenishment, regular checks, and maintaining displays.

• Handle customer complaints effectively to ensure satisfaction.

• Contribute to visual merchandising to enhance store presentation and highlight key products.

• Work with management on promotions and in-store events to boost sales.
  
  

About You

• Previous retail sales or customer-facing experience (essential).

• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience training or mentoring others is a plus, but not required.
  
  

Working Hours

• Week 1: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00

• Week 2: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 + Saturday, 08:00 – 12:00
