Assistant Branch Manager

Assistant Branch Manager – Brighton Branch

Simon Acres Group are currently working with an independent builders' merchant with branches across the South East of England. We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Branch Manager to join their Brighton branch. In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day management of branch operations, lead and motivate the team, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will play a key role in driving sales growth, maximising profitability, and ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service at the trade counter, by phone, and through hands-on support (including loading when required).

  • Work alongside the Branch Manager to develop the branch, enhance customer service, and achieve sales targets.

  • Oversee stock management, from ordering materials to maintaining appropriate stock levels.

  • Supervise and support the branch team to achieve performance goals.

  • Assist in the delivery of the branch Sales Plan and contribute to revenue growth.

  • Ensure safe and efficient daily operations.

  • Step in as Branch Manager when required, providing consistent leadership.

  • Keep the customer at the heart of every activity, ensuring they receive the best possible service.

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a customer-focused, sales-driven environment.

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • A proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Approachable, supportive, and confident working with colleagues and customers at all levels.

Working Hours

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00

  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 & alternate Saturdays, 08:00 – 12:00
