Week 2: Monday - Friday 07:00 to 17:00 (Saturday 07:30 to 12:00)

Merchant industry, we are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Class 2 Driver with HIAB. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 
• Lift materials and load vehicles, always adopting safe lifting and handling procedures 
• Ensure all loads are secure, stable and not hazardous 
• Ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy and safe. Performing the checks that are included in 
the standard company procedures 
• Report any concerns about the safety of your vehicle, or any defect in maintenance or repair 
to your Branch Manager as and when they occur 
• Observe strict adherence to the company’s health and safety procedures, at all times 
• Ensure that the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is always worn 
• Accurately completing delivery paperwork 
• Adopt a pro-active approach to increasing sales, by looking out for new sites and 
developments which could result in new business leads 
• Serving customers who attend the branch, and offering direct assistance, especially when 
they are in the yard or stores areas 
• Monitor the movement of traffic in the yard to ensure that no persons in the yard or in 
vehicles are in danger of collision or injury 
• Undertaking any other reasonable request as directed by the immediate Branch or Assistant 
Manager 

 

Requirements: 
• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence 
• Full Clean UK licence  
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role 
• CPC and Tachograph Card 
• Experience in driving HGV2 with HIAB 
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries preferred 
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance regulations 
• Excellent communication skills and customer service focus 
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
